Drai's on top of the W Hollywood Hotel
Hollywood goes Hollywood
The neighbourhood of Hollywood is often a favourite hangout for celebrities. Avalon is still a famous nightclub, but long gone are its glory days when Madonna, Prince and the Rolling Stones partied here. Today’s DJs spin techno, house and nu-electro. Try your luck at super trendy Drai’s, in the W Hollywood hotel. Inside you may spot Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton, outside you enjoy great views of the LA skyline. Sit back in the velvet sofas and watch the crowd, or dance to house, hip hop or contemporary hits. Another excellent Hollywood hotspot is Boulevard3. The club’s motto is ‘Keep it active and deliver the unexpected’. Its interior evokes a mixture of a cosy living room, a luxurious 5-star estate and a hip playground. So you may not only find yourself rubbing elbows with your favourite film star, but also savouring a serving of chocolate-dipped strawberries. On the house, of course.
Old friends
Santa Monica Boulevard connects Hollywood to West Hollywood, another district favoured by stars for a night on the town. This is where you find legendary Bar Marmont, located inside the famous Hotel Chateau Marmont. Every self-respecting celebrity has been to this romantic bar that oozes old-fashioned Hollywood charm. Another popular destination is the elegant Sky Bar in Hotel Mondrian. The rich & famous flock here to listen to acoustic mini-concerts, also known as the Mondrian Sessions, hosted outside by the pool.
Hip and happening
What’s hot and what’s not in Los Angeles changes every season. And celebrities always try to stay on top of the trends. So if you didn’t have any luck at the addresses listed above, check out Teddy’s, in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Or head to AV Nightclub on N. Cahuenga Boulevard, Lure on Ivar Avenue or Greystone Manor Supperclub on Cienega Boulevard.
