Ticket prices, booking fees and service fees

Your final ticket price includes taxes, surcharges, and possible (booking) fees. Learn more about the breakdown of your ticket price.

About our ticket prices

When booking online, we always show you the lowest-priced fare type available. You can switch to a different fare type during the booking process to enjoy more benefits and different conditions (such as more baggage or flexibility to change your travel dates). This may result in a higher ticket price.

Our ticket prices displayed on klm.com include all taxes and surcharges:

  • Airport tax for all airports where you depart, arrive, or transfer
  • Security surcharge to cover insurance and security measures
  • International surcharge imposed by the carrier

You can find your total ticket price and a detailed breakdown of the fare, taxes, surcharges, and fees at several steps during your online booking. After booking, you can find this information in your booking confirmation e-mail and in My Trip.

Booking fees

Booking fees are not included in the ticket price and are added during booking. For tickets issued in Ecuador, the following booking fees apply:

  • Booking on klm.com: no booking fee
  • Booking via a KLM Ticket Office, KLM Customer Contact Center or at the airport: USD 80 for intercontinental tickets in Economy Class, USD 90 for intercontinental tickets in Premium Economy class, USD 100 for intercontinental tickets in Business Class, and USD 80 for tickets between 2 locations in Europe

Please note: Travel agencies apply their own booking fees for the sale of KLM tickets. These fees vary by agency.

Service fees

Need to change or cancel your flight? If your ticket conditions allow it, you can do so online without paying a service fee. Check your ticket conditions in My Trip.

If you need our help changing or canceling your flight, we're happy to assist. Please note that we may charge a service fee to change or cancel your flight. Service fees are nonrefundable.
